A 'QIANJIANG' SCHOOL ENAMELED 'CONG' VASE.
Attributed to Cheng Men.
The square-section body painted to two sides with figures in sampans on a river in a mountainous landscape, the two other sides, each with an elephant head-shaped handles, one with a bird on a blossoming branch, the other with and flowers, each with a poem and a seal, 30cm H.

Cheng Men (d. before 1908) was a porcelain painter active in the Late Qing dynasty. He painted in the Qianjiang style using a subdued palette reminiscent of literati ink and watercolours paintings.
