A TANGRA TERRACOTTA FEMALE FIGURE
Circa 3rd Century B.C.
Depicted seated, the figure wears a loose chiton draped over her right shoulder, leaving one breast exposed, the drapery falling in folds over her lap clinging to her legs one of which is raised forward, her right arm bent at the elbow in front of her, broken at the wrist, it is likely she would have originally been holding an object, the curls of her hair parted in the centre and pulled back into a chignon, 17.6cm high,
